The Long Week-End

This week-end I said, "Good-Bye" to my husband of 31 years...the father of the two most wonderful children that were ever created. While his alcoholism lead to the end of our 31 year marriage in 2006, the past few weeks have allowed some resolution to the conflict that became a part of our lives. Since the diagnosis in early July of Stage IV Melanoma, he had been sober. We had the opportunity to again be a part of his life, and he, of ours. While this was not the resolution we had hoped for, it was certainly a more positive resolution than many of the options we had feared. At this point we need to remember the Randy who was....not the Randy who he became.
